PCQI Blended Training Course Part 2 – 1 Day Course (FSPCA)

PCQI TRAINING COURSE (BLENDED COURSE) PART 2:  

This Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) Blended Training course was developed to provide an alternative for individuals to complete the FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food course. The Blended course consists of 2 parts.  Part 1 is online, which you can complete at your own pace. Part 2 is a one day (8 hours) online Zoom course taught by FSPCA Lead Instructor (Human Food) Karine Lawrence, Principal/Founder of Sirocco Consulting. Both parts must be completed in order to obtain the certificate.

  • Prerequisite: Part 1 certificate. 
  • Up to 10 attendees. 
  • 250 USD per participant. 
  • 1 day (8hrs) online.

Please note that participants will only be eligible for the FSPCA Participant Certificate of Training if they are present for all modules of the virtual course.

IMPORTANT

Once you begin the process, you have up to six months to complete the Part 1: Online course. Upon completion, you have six months to complete a Part 2: Instructor-Led course. We recommend you book the Part 2: Instructor-Led course prior to enrolling in Part 1: Online.

Temporary FSPCA Part 2 Course Completion Extension: Upon completion of the Part 1: Online course, participants will now have 9 months to complete a Part 2: Instructor-Led course.

This course offered by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) is the “standardized curriculum” recognized by U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The FSPCA provides training programs to assist the food industry to achieve compliance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Hazard Analysis and Risk-based Preventive Controls for human food regulation.

Successful completion of this course is one way to meet the requirements for a “preventive controls qualified individual or PCQI.” Under the rule, the PCQI, which can be a company employee or a consultant, prepares or oversees the preparation of the food safety plan, validates preventive controls, performs a review of food safety documents and reassesses the plan a minimum of every 3 years or when changes are required.
